To assist the aged and disabled to maintain an independent, safe and secure lifestyle in their homes.
Sandgate & District (St Margaret’s) Home Assist Secure is a not-for-profit community service.
We were initially established in 1993 as the Sandgate & District Home Secure Program under the auspice of the Corporation of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane. Funded by the Queensland Government (Department of Housing) to provide security related assistance to eligible clients.
In 1995 the program was expanded by the Department of Housing to include home maintenance and minor modification and our name changed to Sandgate & District Home Assist Secure.
In January 1996 the program was further expanded when we received funding from what was referred to as HACC – Home & Community Care.
We employ a manager, a field coordinator, three full-time administration officers and five field officers. We also receive services from volunteers. All staff must undertake a nationwide police check before they can be employed by the service. Volunteers who have access to client files in the course of their duties must also undertake a nationwide police check. This ensures that you will only be dealing with trusted and reliable people.
