A home modification is a structural change to your home so that you can continue to live and move safely about the house. All modifications are categorised as either minor or major jobs.
Major Modifications All work undertaken at a cost greater than approximately $3000 (including GST) are deemed to be major modifications and we can complete this work also.
Minor Modifications We are funded to complete minor modifications for both Home Assist Secure clients and also Community Home Support Program clients.
Minor modifications include but are not limited to the following:
hand held showers
appropriate tap sets
installation of emergency alarms
slip resistant strips for bathroom floors
reversal of bathroom doors or installation of lift off hinges
Installations of grab rails, bed raisers and chair raisers are all completed to the plan of an occupational therapist (OT). OTs can be organised through My Aged Care or via our office on 3869 1000.
Once we receive the plans we will prioritise the work and send a field officer to your home to complete the work. It is your choice of what work you want completed but we must follow the plans of where to place the grab rails and other modifications as specified by the occupational therapist.
If you have a gold DVA card then you can arrange all your occupational therapy assessments with your doctor.
